Recent advances in the study of ancient road networks in the Brittany region (1995-2020)
L’avancée récente de l’étude des réseaux routiers anciens de la région Bretagne (1995-2020)
Résumé
Ten years ago, the SRA of Brittany launched an inventory of the main road network of Brittany’s peninsula, in order to record remains and routes reconstructed in Patriarch as archaeological entities. The main aim is to articulate hypotheses on the ancient road network and its evolution from proto-history to the Middle Ages, and become a prime mover behind studies, protection and heritage management measures. The authors present their feedback and a brief assessment.
