Ethnographic incidents : making the most of the hazards of fieldwork investigations
Incidents heuristiques.
Neglected or relegated "outside” the text, the ethnographer’s misadventures in the field are the center of this dossier. The contributions of this issue of ethnographiques.org address the various obstacles, failures and setbacks that researchers in the social sciences are often confronted with, on the bet that they are of heuristic interest. Incidents, accidents, misunderstandings, errors, tensions, blunders, etc., are valuable to the extent that they provide food for thought. Here, eleven researchers share their experiences in different contexts and regions of the world (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, France, Cameroon, Quebec, Brazil, Canada, the United States, Spain, Ecuador, digital social networks).
