Résumé

An application of unfamiliar bandpass (BP) negative group delay (NGD) circuit for designing microwave passive phase shifter (PS) is introduced. The constant PS is designed by using positive group delay (PGD) circuit represented by LCL network and BP-NGD function. The RLC-parallel network constituted the PS BP-NGD topology. The theory of BP-NGD constant PS is established based on the S-parameters modelling. The BP-NGD synthesis equations are formulated in function of the design goals noticed by desired PS value P0=-45° and center frequency f0=1 GHz and 20 dB reflection loss. The theoretical design of the proposed BP-NGD PS is validated by comparison between the calculated and simulated results showing ΔP0=+/-2.33° with bandwidth Δf=0.334 GHz. The insertion loss of the designed PS proof-of-concept is less than 2 dB. The investigated BP-NGD PS is potentially useful in the near future for the 6G antenna array integrated circuit design.
