The Absurd Injunction to Not Belong and the Bidūn in Kuwait
Résumé
Borrowing the concept of the 'absurd' from theatre studies and applying it to an analysis in political science analysis, this article endeavours to take into account the perspective of the biduns faced with two dimensions of the repressive policies: firstly, the attribution, on the basis of conjecture, of foreign nationalities and the effect of identity discordance that this administrative practice produced for the concerned individuals, creating a new form of vexatious treatment; and secondly, the uncertainty and opacity as well as the temporisation and the effects of constant changes in the biduns' horizon of expectations that were set up as a way of managing the issue on a permanent basis.
