The Circular Economy as a Strategy for Local Economic Sustainability: A Conceptual Approach to MSMEs
L'économie circulaire en tant que stratégie pour la durabilité économique locale : Une approche conceptuelle des MPME
Résumé
This article examines the conceptual basis of the circular economy and its impact on MSMEs and regional economies. The circular economy emerges as a response to current challenges in search of a sustainable future, where well-being and economic prosperity are guaranteed while reducing environmental impact. Through an exhaustive literature review, the contributions of the circular economy in reducing environmental impact, generating green jobs, and improving productive efficiency are analyzed. In addition, the synergies generated by implementing circular practices in local economies are identified, thus mitigating the negative impacts of traditional industrial practices. The results reveal that more and more companies and governments are adopting this approach to improve their environmental and economic performance. It also highlights the importance of broadening the debate on the opportunities offered by the circular economy within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the new economy.
