Résumé

This research proposes a novel combination of state enumeration (SE) and sequential Monte Carlo simulation (SMCS) techniques, which are jointly optimised for the first time as a unique approach, to formulate novel LV network reliability equivalents with improved accuracy and higher applicability. The combination of SE and SMCS is illustrated using a generic suburban LV network, which is first represented by a reduced number of system states. A further reduction of system states results in a single-component equivalent with the same unavailability as the original LV network, thereby allowing power utilities to perform a much simpler, faster, and more accurate system reliability assessment. Figure 1 illustrates the proposed equivalenting methodology to obtain the single component with an equivalent failure rate (λeqv) and repair time (MTTReqv) that aggregates the composite reliability information from the detailed LV network.
