Europium spectroscopic properties impacted by femtosecond laser 3D nanostructuring in lithium niobium borosilicate glasses
Résumé
We report in this article a study of luminescence properties of rare earth (herein Eu 3+) embedded in oriented nanostructures photo-induced by femtosecond laser irradiation in a lithium niobium borosilicate glass. A systematic comparison is made between the Eu 3+ luminescence properties in the irradiated area and the glass matrix, including the effect of Eu 3+ concentration on luminescence spectra, lifetimes and absorption/emission cross sections. Luminescence intensity is enhanced in the irradiated area compared to the glass matrix, which can be proved useful in optical devices engineering.
