Employment factors associated with long working hours in France

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to explore employment factors associated with long working hours, found be a risk factor for various health outcomes. relied on national representative data 2013 French conditions survey and sample 23,378 full-time employees. Long hours defined by threshold 48 week following European time directive. prevalence was higher among men (13.5%) than women (8.5%). Employees private sector, permanent work contract, in small companies, services had exposure. This increased educational occupational levels. Our findings may help decision makers define preventive strategies. More research is needed improve our knowledge as there strong differences between countries.
