Supporting the autonomy of adults with Alzheimer's disease with non-drug care -

Résumé

In care centers for aging people with disabilities, in France, professionals carry out their psychosocial interventions with residents using gerontechnologies. This research presents an analysis of the multiple uses of one type of gerontechnology, the Tovertafel, in these specific care homes. The objective is to define the conditions in which professionals use (or not) this type of "digital technical tools" to make them real "socio-technical artifacts", within the framework of their psychosocial interventions with this public of elderly people. The work is based on a collection of different empirical data: observations, interviews with professionals in charge of Tovertafel in care centers, interviews with representatives of the company Tovertafel. The analysis consisted of an inductive thematization of the data. The first results show that four factors participate in this passage from "digital tool" to "instrumental artefact".
