Electrical machine with 2G HTS winding : analytical design and optimization
Résumé
The electrification of civil aviation poses many challenges related to high power density and efficiency issues. The IMOTHEP “Investigation and Maturation of Technologies for Hybrid Electric Propulsion” project aims to estimate the potential of hybrid electric propulsion to reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. HTS wires achieved great performances which make them ideal candidate to develop efficient and very compact HTS electrical machines to be used in future more electric aircrafts.
This paper focus on the analytical design of radial field HTS synchronous machines considering the non-linear behavior of the wires in regard to the applied magnetic field
