Numerical study of the effect of moisture on chloride and carbon dioxide transport in concrete
Résumé
In this paper a physico-chemical model is developed to study the coupled transport of chloride, carbon dioxide and moisture into concrete. To predict the chloride profile in concrete, a new approach is proposed based on the Nernst-Planck’s equation, which considers multi-species transfer of aggressive ions, including diffusion, migration, chemical activity of ions, interaction between chloride ions and cement paste of concrete and convection due to the exposure conditions. Several applications of the numerical model are developed
