Monetary impacts should be considered in biological invasion risk assessments
Résumé
Abstract Biological invasions pose a significant threat to biodiversity, planetary health and socio‐economies worldwide. Prioritizing invasive species for management is crucial, given the limited economic resources available. While global risk scoring systems exist, they currently do not incorporate fully quantitative impact metrics. However, emergence of monetary costs as standardized measure across contexts provides an opportunity compare in assessments. Synthesis applications : The should now be considered assessments worldwide, growing availability synthesis cost data. This will allow more informed decision‐making regarding allocation management.
