Continuous and Efficient Cooperative Trust Management for Resilient CCAM

Francesca Bassi

Résumé

CONNECT aims to enable the next-generation of Intelligent Transports Systems to implement cooperative autonomous driving applications, aiming at enhancing road safety by using perception sharing, path planning, real-time local updates, coordinated driving. CONNECT artefacts will support the collaborative execution of safety-critical functions towards better services and the sharing of vehicle control decisions. The adoption of 5G and the advances in Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) provide the required processing power near the vehicle, meeting the latency requirements. This, however, opens new security and trust questions. To answer these, CONNECT establishes a trust assessment framework, centered around the Zero-Trust paradigm, which continuously assesses the dynamic trust relationships between components, based on their information exchanges. CONNECT will provide the fundamental building blocks for establishing the required trust model in this evolutionary environment, thus contributing to Europe's secure and sustainable digital future.
