Designing Harmonic Filters on LED Lamp Loads to Reduce Odd Order THD
Résumé
In a decade, the global lighting industry has undergone a total revolution with the arrival of LED lighting. Indonesia is also undergoing this profound transformation but these light sources are non-linear loads which generate high harmonic currents. These non-linear loads which generate non simusoidal voltage waveforms, which can be harmful to other loads connected to the power grid. The objective of this research is to design a harmonic filter to mitigate the harmonic impact of using LED lamps based on the Indonesian standard SNI IEC 61000-3-2:2014. We have tested five types of the most common household LED lamps in the Indonesian market. The methods in this research use Power Qualty Analyzer to measure the power quality were measured, such as total power consumption and total harmonic distortion for current (THDi) and total harmonic distortion for voltage (THDv), factor of power, the harmonics. The search uses a passive filter to reduce harmonic values by determining the appropriate filter parameter (R, L, and C). The expected result of this research is the reduction of the harmonic content using a filter designed to meet the requirements of the standards.
