Institutional Communication in Healthcare Organizations as a Marker of Patient Orientation chapter 4
Résumé
In a world where a form of competition between hospitals and healthcare organizations is becoming increasingly evident, the ability of these institutions to develop patient orientation (PO) is contributing to the transformation of the role given to patients and also to those who support them. This is reflected in changes in practices and in the relationship between the caregiver and the patient. This chapter aims to improve the understanding of PO by analyzing the importance given to the patient in the framework of institutional communication through the website of health institutions. It also aims to identify the behavioral and/or cultural approach of PO through the sharing of medical information with the patient, with the medical team and the implementation of specific tools in terms of resources and skills or the specificities of each organization in terms of values, culture and positioning.
