Cultivating inclusion and harvesting exclusion? A case study of an anarchist food cooperative

Résumé

This article is exploring how an alternative organization relying on anarchist ideology is dealing with the tension between inclusion and exclusion. It relies on the empirical study of anarchist groceries in the suburb of Paris. Thanks to the analytical grid of Shore et al. (2011) the study shows how despite a willingness to include the highest number, these self-managed organizations produce both inclusion and exclusion.
