Sources and hypothesis for a social and cultural history of the people sentenced to death in the XXth century

Nicolas Picard

Résumé

The purpose of my work is to replace the death penalty in the context of the structures of power and social regulation specific to the French society of the 20th century. For these reasons I intend to put the emphasis on a social and cultural history instead of the study of the political and media aspects linked to the abolitionist debate.
