Analysis of a variable density turbulent jet submitted to a pulsed coflow
Résumé
An experimental and numerical work dedicated to the study of a variable density jet submitted to a time-varying coflow with high acceleration / deceleration levels is presented in this paper. To deal with this complex unsteady flow a simple model taking into account advective effects has been developped. It permits to bring to the fore that advective effects are responsible for a front creation during acceleration phase. This front will interact with the downstream jet structure and modify turbulence and mixing properties. As this study is linked with industrial application we simulated the entire flow by a standard k-eps model. Comparisons with LDV measurements are presented and discussed.
