Open Science and Me
Résumé
This workshop, offered during the 45th Annual Meeting of the German Linguistic Society, invites PhD students of all linguistic disciplines to reflect on and discuss Open Science and its relevance and possibilities for their PhD/research projects. Key topics of the workshop are open data and open access publications.
The workshop discusses possibilities of and issues with open science and considers reasons for or against open science. More importantly though, it aims at encouraging reflection on what open science means concretely for the participants’ projects, what steps they could take in the pursuit of open science and why they would take them (or not). For example, what kinds of data and options for open access publishing are there, who owns the data/published papers, how can data/papers be made available and does availability equal open science?
