Analysis of the writing processes of 10-year-old children at school, with the help of the “Genèse du texte” word processing program

Résumé

The word processing program Genèse du texte, published by the Association Française pour la Lecture , is able to catch and restore all the writing events which occur in constructing a text. Thus, the teacher has access right through the way the pupils have written. The basic idea of this instrument is the improvement of writers when they observe their way of writing and explain their strategies. The basis of this research is a corpus of 10 informative texts and 8 narrative ones, worked up by 10-year-old pupils at school. Its main purpose is to analyse their writing processes from the first words to the definitive text from an enunciative linguistic angle. This work uses the researches of the CNRS department Institut des Textes et Manuscrits modernes (GRESILLON 1994).
