HAXPES at SOLEIL
Résumé
The GALAXIES beamline at SOLEIL synchrotron is dedicated to X-ray spectroscopy (inelastic x-ray scattering and photoemission) in the tender to hard X-ray range (2.3 – 12 keV) [1]. The HAXPES endstation has been opened to users science 2013. The station is equipped with a SCIENTA EW4000 high kinetic energy wide angle lens, and different sample environment for performing photoemission in solid, liquid and gas phases (cf. Fig. 1). We will focus in this presentation on recent research activity in the field of materials science as probed by HAXPES (cf. e.g. Refs. [2,3]). This includes transition metal oxides, mixed valent rare earth compounds, heterostructures, 2D materials, batteries and solar cells. In the course of the presentation, we will show how HAXPES can be efficiently used in combination with standing waves, have access to bulk band structure using angular resolved mode or be performed in operando conditions. Perspectives for HAXPES in the line of the SOLEIL DLSR Upgrade program will be discussed.
