Ethnoéducation en Colombie, ethnomusicologie en France : quelques notes sur des pratiques universitaires croisées
Résumé
As a french ethnomusicologist, the author of this article was invited to present his
research and methods in Columbia and eventually took part in field research
among Andines Afrocolombian communities. He then discovered in this local
academic context (namely the Popayan University’s Intercultural studies
department) the notion of « ethnoeducation » and its specific meaning and use.
Written as a « Back from fieldwork » paper, this article investigates some aspects
of this concept and deals more specifically with the relationship between
ethnoeducation and ethnomusicology in a post-colonial context. The example of the former French colony New Caledonia enables him to make a possible comparison between these two cases. Far from drawing a definitive conclusion, this article is meant to give food for thought about « community education » as well as the interferences between this so-called « ethnoeducation » and the traditional ethnomusicologist interest for oral tradition.
