Bookstagram : un cas de transmédialité générique ?

Résumé

This study focuses on Bookstagram, a form of amateur literary review aiming at evaluating books and popularised on Instagram with the hashtag #Bookstagram. It is a form of communication – the Instagram post – that appropriates the generic characteristics of a traditional genre – the book review. This activity corresponds to the translation of a traditional media to an online social media. The analysis is based on a corpus of posts published in French and German. After a brief characterization of this phenomenon, two essential points are at the centre of the study: the de-professionalisation of this practice and its anchorage in the digital space. In particular, we analyse the way in which Instagram users construct the legitimacy of their speech, leading to original strategies. The aim of this paper is therefore to understand the meaning of this translation to a social media and to give an overview of its possible impact on the evolution of a textual genre.
