Advanced receivers for QAM-FBMC systems with short filters

Résumé

Quadrature amplitude modulation based Filter-bank multicarrier (QAM-FBMC) is a promising technology for 5G and beyond. Compared to OFDM, QAM-FBMC can provide better spectral confinement and lower out-of-band emissions (OOBE). These advantages come with the cost of high intrinsic interference and bit error rate (BER) degradation. In this paper, we propose different receivers to improve the performance of the QAM-FBMC systems. The simulation results show that the proposed receivers, based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) and iterative interference cancellation (IIC), are able to significantly enhance the system performance.
