Plateforme d'Analyse Protéomique de Paris Sud-Ouest (PAPPSO)

Résumé

The Plateforme d’Analyse Protéomique de Paris Sud-Ouest (PAPPSO, http://pappso.inrae.fr/) provides research teams with equipment, scientific expertise and know-how adapted to the most actual proteomics questions, from the simplest (identification of proteins from a fully sequenced organism) to the most complex (quantification of variations, dynamics of post-translational modifications (PTMs)), in the framework of collaborations and services. PAPPSO proposes different types of analyses, based either on protein or peptide separation or on shotgun techniques, with or without isotopic labeling. PAPPSO arose by merging two complementary platforms. One is located in the Micalis institute (Jouy-en-Josas) and is specialized in microorganisms and animals proteomics. The other is located in the Institut Diversité Ecologie et Evolution du Vivant (IDEEV, Gif-sur-Yvette) and is specialized in plant proteomics. PAPPSO is composed of 9 permanent people and hosts three high resolution mass spectrometers. It performs about 6000 mass spectrometry runs every year for different research teams in France and abroad. PAPPSO is labeled by IBiSA and by INRAE as Collective Scientific Infrastructure (ISC). It is also ISO9001 certified. PAPPSO is specialized in the following fields: analysis of large cohorts of samples, possibly very complex (e.g. metaproteomics), characterization of PTMs (e.g. phosphorylation, acetylation), analysis of native peptides potentially carrying original PTMs. It is also highly involved in the development of open-source software covering all aspects of proteomic analysis, from the exploitation of raw data to statistical analyses. PAPPSO provides assistance to users for data interpretation and is also committed in training and teaching proteomics.
