A Hypoelastic Approach for Simulating the Independent Bending Behavior of Textile Composite within the Stress Resultant Shell
Résumé
In the textile composite drape process, the material bending behavior plays a critical role in the onset and development of wrinkles. The bending moment is linked with the membrane force in the classical shell element which leads to the insufficient for the textile composite draping simulation. Specific to the textile composite, a hypoelastic approach is proposed within the stress resultant shell. A bending stiffness independent of membrane stiffness is introduced to calculate the stress moments in the finite element analysis. This approach is implemented in the commercial software Abaqus, which makes it possible for any user of this software.
