KLUN : Studying kinematics and dynamics in the Local Universe
Résumé
We use direct Tully-Fisher relations in five bands (BIJHK) in deriving distances to 2600 spiral galaxies distributed through the whole sky and covering the radial velocity range between 0 and 8,000 km/s. The smoothed peculiar velocity field and the Malmquist bias correction for each galaxy are calculated simultaneously through a new iterative method based on normalized distances and an analytical solution for the bias. The result is a very detailed and original representation of the velocity field in the Local Universe and provides a unique starting point for total mass power spectrum studies.
