High Precision Spectroscopy of Stellar Populations

Résumé

Spectra integrated along the line-of-sight are the main source of information about the history of galaxies. The spectral energy distribution, and the strength of selected spectral features allow a first diagnostics of the age and metallicity of stellar systems. The next step of refinement is to analyze the shape of the absorption lines.
