Air pollution: the silent killer is also indoors
Résumé
In November 2021, the WHO published new Air Quality Guidelines1 aimed at protecting global health worldwide through the control of air pollution emissions. According to these updated guidelines, almost all the world's population (99%) breathe air that exceeds the recommended limits for pollutants, with low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) suffering the highest exposure. Air pollution is now recognised as the single biggest environmental threat to human health, with a devastating nine million deaths each year
