Lacan, the symbolic and the signifier
Lacan, le symbolique et le signifiant
Résumé
To assimilate the unconscious and the symbolic implies, as Lacan himself indicated in 1953 to the French Society of Psychoanalysis, « a certain orientation for the study of psychoanalysis, [...] which differs from the classical orientation ». We will limit ourselves, in this article, to a brief presentation of this conception, accompanied by a critical point of view which proposes to give a non-linguistic origin to the symbolic order.
