Pointing errors and cognitive impairment: some lessons for the design of rehabilitation systems

Résumé

Objective. We are currently investigating interaction techniques to understand point-select-drag interactions for older people with cognitive impairment. Many studies have also looked at the effects of ageing on computer interaction (Walker and al., 1996), (Worden and al. 1997), (Chaparro and al., 1999), (Woods and al., 2005], (Williams and al., 2007), etc. In our previous (Vella and al., 2011), we have reported that movement time and movement distance are dependant of the severity of the cognitive impairment. This ongoing study will present the analysis of the interaction errors according two factors (point-select-drag interaction and severity of the cognitive impairment).
