This communication aims to evoke how, by integrating collective representations and the urban imagination of photographers (Saule-Sorbé, 2003), the press shots taken in the neighborhoods have an influence on the identity demonstration of the inhabitants and the users. (Raoul, 2011). For this, a typology of graphic content themes is proposed and compared to posts on digital social networks. The work highlights the existence of a phenomenon of appropriation of these representations, under certain conditions, in the management of e-identity (Georges, 2009). Referring to its online communication, the individual-media (Barbe, 1995) potentially develops a personal institutionalization (Gobert, 2018) where it behaves as if it represented an institution, a cause, a place. The illusions of control where the subject considers himself able to act on events that do not offer a grip (Langer 1975, Moser, 1992) seem to accentuate the integration of images of the neighborhood in the e-identity and self-institutionalization.
