Peut-on mesurer la naturalité des énoncés ?
Résumé
Native speakers consider natural (or not natural) sentences they heard. But what exactly is naturalness of language ? This concept represents a serious puzzle for linguistics. The argument of this paper is that, it is possible, to a certain extent, to evaluate the naturalness of a sentence by examining collocation, colligation, semantic prosody and phraseological extension. Corpus linguistics and computational methods help better understand how the most frequent patterns work and play a large part in the impression of naturalness.
