Résumé

The paper focuses on religious-leisure mobility in contemporary Japan, through the analysis of three of the most famous and ancient pilgrimages of the country, all partially or totally located in the Kii peninsula: Kumano, Ise, and the pilgrimage circuit of the thirty-three sacred sites of Saigoku. The study aims at bettering the understanding of the relationship between leisure and religious mobility.
