Earliest pottery in the Oman Peninsula

Résumé

Pottery production appears very late in Oman compared with other regions of the Near East. There is no evidence for it until the beginning of the Early Bronze Age, i.e. at the very end of the 4th millennium BC. The period corresponds to an important change in local technical systems with a probable transfer of certain techniques in pyrotechnology from the Indo-Iranian region and the arrival of merchants potters from this region.
