Coupling chemical reactions with mass transfer around a bubble rising in molten glass
Résumé
During glass production, chemical reactions produce small gas bubbles in molten glass. Bubbles are so small and molten glass is so viscous that they may be captured during solidification of the glass leading to defects in the end-product. Adding new reactive species in glass contributes to eliminate these tiny bubbles. In the present study, numerical simulations have been achieved coupling, around a single bubble rising freely in molten glass, mass transfer and chemical reactions.
