Peur et technologies, les effets d'un monde en crise dans les nouveaux Batman Fears and technologies : effects of a world in crisis in the new Batman's movies
Résumé
Abstract
Fear and technology are an integral part of the Batman character. No matter what the origin story is, whether it is Tim Burton’s or Christopher Nolan’s, when Bruce Wayne wears the mask he decides to fight crime by instilling fear with the image of the bat. However he remains human and cannot lose himself in his symbolism. His use of technology thus artificially completes his avatar. That is why the reboot directed by Christopher Nolan in 2005 radically transforms the relationship between Batman and
echnology that Tim Burton had developed in 1989. Indeed that first version presented to the audience a hero whose aura and equipment were at the service of justice and common good, but the new generation bat is confronted with a world inhabited by conflicts and by the collective fears of its own History. This paper consequently tries to show the evolution of the representation of technology which links
Batman with modern fears.
