On the teaching mode in online course of MEMS fundamental theory
Résumé
Massive offline courses have been transferred to online in higher education reform all over the world. This paper presents a teaching mode integrated with finite element numerical simulation in the fundamental theory study in MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) online course for the graduate students. The static bending and dynamic vibration are the most basic and important theory in MEMS. Their text description and numerical simulation are displayed in this paper. To evaluate the effect of numerical simulation in the basic theory learning, two sets of pre- and post-tests are carried out as a controlled experiment. One set is based on only lectures and the other set is integrated with numerical simulation. The pre-test and post-test analytical evaluation reveals that the integration of numerical simulation brings more effective learning in MEMS fundamental theories. It will be a promising teaching mode for online course constructions.
