Résumé

The aim of this chapter is to review the experimental and numerical techniques for the estimation of the laser induced fluorescence decay in rare gases using time-correlated.single photon counting. The advantages of single-photon counting technique are discussed by means of measurement uncertainty analysis. In addition, this chapter provides information concerning the application of this technique to filamentary dielectric barrier discharges or radiation trapping of the resonant transitions.
