Slow light of dark pulses in photorefractive crystal
Résumé
Slowdown of Gaussian "dark pulses" in photorefractive crystal using a two-wave mixing method is shown at room temperature. In agreement with our theoretical model, the experiment shows the dependence of the "dark pulse" delay and the group velocity values on the photorefractive gain Γ and the input pulse width t 0. The use of "dark pulses" allows to improve the time delay values and achieve maximal fractional about 1 for a pulse duration close to the crystal response time.
