Abstract

The choice of materials used in the chip fabrication is crucial in microfluidics. They are selected and adapted depending on the available production techniques and associated processes, the involved characterization and measurement methods, the physical and chemical experimental conditions, and the cost. Here, we propose a versatile approach using a combination of epoxy materials to fabricate manually resealable and reusable (>40 times) microfluidic chips which demonstrate numerous potentialities: good chemical resistance, optical (visible and X-ray) transparency, biocompatibility, capability to undergo in average 2.9 bar of liquid pressure, or integration of high aspect ratio (>1500) channels. It thus represents a promising alternative for prototyping in a large panel of applications and fundamental studies.
