Le CECR : une technologie politique de l’enseignement des langues
Résumé
This text is a critical commentary on the managerial rationality behind the European Council’s recommendations for language teaching and learning. The CEFRL is analyzed as being political technology aiming to establish a totally normalized representation of the field rationalized by expert knowledge. A totalizing discourse reflects the act of communication it is promoting, negating even the possibility of encountering “otherness” in language. The result is a conception of language reduced to a code promising a transparent and controlled communication that is totally at one with action and that eliminates, for this communications man - henceforward total individual - the question of desire and freedom.
