Numerical Solution to the Incompressible Euler's Equations with Arbitrary Resolution
Résumé
In this talk we will present a method to solve the incompressible Euler equations. These equations generate a cascade of arbitrary fine scales and are notoriously difficult to handle numerically. Our approach is to use the Characteristic-Mapping Method (CMM) to evolve the diffeomorphism used to compute the solution. The computed map may be decomposed in submaps over smaller finite time interval thus giving full control over the solution accuracy but also providing arbitrary scale representation.
