Dynamic control of wind energy conversion system
Résumé
This paper investigates the dynamic behavior of a high-power wind energy conversion system (WECS) connected to the grid. The system includes a three-bladed horizontal wind turbine, a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with a high number of poles which eliminate the gearbox. A back to back converter is used between the generator and the grid. A random profile of the wind speed has been used, in order to illustrate the various controls performed. The results of the simulation in Matlab\Simulink have been obtained and discussed to validate the control strategy.
