Ultra-stable laser based on a compact Fabry-Perot cavity
Résumé
The use of a high Finesse Fabry-Perot cavity emerged in the last centry as a way to stabilize the frequency of a laser source fundamental for atomic optical clocks. The improvement of such cavities also has a major stake for applications requiring the use of ultra-stable frequency referencies, such as high precision spectroscopy, or the synchronization of optical frequency combs for the transfer of the frequency
fractional stability to the microwave domain.
