Management of Intelligent Vehicles: Comparison and Analysis

Résumé

The main purpose of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) is to ensure optimal safety while improving user comfort. Many studies address the problem of CAVs to improve specific driving situations (intersection management, traffic flow management, etc.). In this paper, we propose both a comparison of these systems according to a set of criteria and an analysis to assist the development of CAVs fleets. This analysis shows that, among other, the ad-hoc algorithms use similar data (position, speed, etc.) and that the decisions for vehicles are based on cooperative processing for specific situations. The objective of this paper is to provide a guide for the design of CAVs fleet capable of managing all traffic situations.
