Slope instability, erosion and solid meterial transport in steep moutain catchments. Laboratory and field experimentation. EROSLOPE. Final report. Cemagref contribution
The aim of the whole project was to study slope instability, erosion and solid material transport in steep mountain catchments. The project has combined laboratory and field investigations. The Cemagref contribution also involved lab and field experiments. On one hand, we have studied torrential bedload transport processes, through experiments on a great dimensions "torrential platform" (5m x9m) having a varying slope. We have more precisely focused on the armour formation process, and on the effect of channel width on transport capacity and grain size distribution. On the other hand, we have carried out a modelling of the aggradation / degradation cycles measured in th reaches of the Laval torrent in Draix experimental basins (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence - France) as well as a study of magnetically labelled pebbles samples dispersions.
