The websites in the independent hotel sector institutions does not seam similar. The aim of this paper is to under-stand where do theses differences come from. Are there links between the website complexity, the hotel strategy, and the manager competencies? An empirical study was conducted among 266 hotels in France. Résumé Les sites web des établissements du secteur hôtelier indé-pendant semblent très différents les uns des autres. L'objectif de cette recherche est de vérifier la nature de ces différences et les liens qui peuvent exister entre la stratégie des dirigeants et leur degré d'appropriation des technologies web.
