Space and its habitation. A depiction of space in the works of Marie Noel, Suzanne Renaud, Christiane Singer and Sylvie Germain
Espace et son habitation. La représentation de l'espace dans les oeuvres de Marie Noël, Suzanne Renaud, Christiane Singer et Sylvie Germain
Résumé
The publication summarizes the results of research of various types of space in the literary work of four French authors inspired by Christianity, M. Noëlová, S. Renaudová, Ch. Singer and S. Germain. Their literary texts cover the entire 20th century and show the diversity of approaches to space, but also the difference in the literature of both mid-20th century. Methodologically, the work proceeds from a phenomenological Bachelard view of the intimate space of the home, through an open space profane and sacred according to studies by Mircey Eliade to geocritical analysis of space in connection with the theory of geocritics by Bertrand Westphal. The study of space shows that literature cannot be separated from the outside world; on the contrary, it also contributes to its better understanding.
