A closed-form expression of the BER of reconfigurable antenna aided Space Shift Keying (SSK)

We consider the performance analysis of reconfigurable antenna-aided space shift keying (RectAnt-SSK) system for Internet-of-Things applications. In particular, we propose a mathematical framework for analyzing performance of RectAnt-SSK in a general context using a single RecAnt (equipped with several ideal radiation patterns (RPs)) and multiple receive antennas. We take into account the effect of RPs from RecAnt in conjunction with a ray tracing based two dimensional (2D) channel model. The effectiveness of the proposed framework is then assessed through Monte Carlo simulation using simulated RPs.
